Where to Go Next Time, You Visit The Netherlands

Where to Go Next Time, You Visit The Netherlands

Most people who go to The Netherlands only end up going to Amsterdam; even then the majority of people stay within the city centre. I can gladly tell you that by doing that you are only seeing 2% of The Netherlands!

The Netherlands has beautiful nature and a diverse culture. Here’s a list of the places I recommend going.

1. Museumplein

If you’re going to stay in Amsterdam during your visit, then I definitely recommend going to museumplein with your friends during a sunny day. It is only a 30-minute walk from the dam square. It is one of my favourite places to have a picnic because you can be in the city centre, but also sit down and enjoy the nature around you.

2. Maastricht

All I can say is if you’re coming to The Netherlands then definitely save a day or two to go to Maastricht. Maastricht is known for its young lifestyle and fun environment. If you are a student who enjoys a good night out/drink, then this is the best place for that atmosphere.

3. Scheveningen

Scheveningen is a huge beach area filled with bars. It is a 10-minute bus ride from Den Haag Centraal. This is the perfect place to go with your friends during a nice sunny day. It is not in Amsterdam which means you can explore The Netherlands more and still have fun. Even with a large amount of beach bars, you also have a casino, cinema hall, restaurants, trampolines, carnival rides, and more.

4. StrandZuid

There are many fake beach locations you can go to in Amsterdam; however, this one of my personal favourites. It is one of my favourite places to go to just relax on a sunbed and have a drink near the canal water. Although it is not a real beach, it definitely gives you that summer feeling.

5. Hilton Sky Lounge Bar

Although this is a bit of expensive one, it is worth going to. This experience is best during a sunny day. The outside area of the bar overlooks all of Amsterdam. This is an ideal place to have a drink during sunset, so you can see the sun go down with pink skies while having a full view of Amsterdam.

6. De Pijp

This is the perfect recommendation for all students. De Pijp is the best area in Amsterdam for night outs. De Pijp is filled with bars and represents the young Dutch drinking culture. If you’re looking to walk around, bar hop, and have an adventure, then I suggest starting our night out at De Pijp. It is a good place to meet other young people as well, especially on a Friday night!

These recommendations are definitely worth giving a go! Of course, there are so many other places worth seeing during your visit, but these are the places I go to often because of how much I enjoy my time there! Let us know what you think of these recommendations!
